Job Description
The Team You’ll Be Joining
Forum was started from a place of helpfulness, with the mission to make the B2B SaaS journey easier, more accessible and successful for early-stage founders. That extends to the people we work with. When you work with Forum, you’re working with a respectful, inclusive team that you can trust, ready to collaborate and support you at any given moment.
We are unapologetically ourselves, self-aware, and act with complete honesty and integrity. We’re open to learning, to different and new ideas, to feedback, and are constantly looking to improve. We work hard and smart, and spend much of our time feeling challenged and inspired by each other.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced software developer to work with our team of authentic, ambitious, smart, nice people to help us build the next generation of great venture-backed startups. You will have the unique opportunity to be a senior individual contributor in early MVP building for new startups, design new business concepts, rapidly prototype innovative software interfaces, and partner with startup CEOs to build B2B software products - end to end.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Partner with our CTO in the SDLC end to end
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Founders, Design, Engineering, and others to develop products that solve meaningful problems
- Develop clean, scalable, and easily maintained code
- Work with modern languages, frameworks, and tools to build performant products
What We're Looking For:
- You've shipped non-trivial products that delight users, perhaps some from the ground up, and have spent time dealing with performant or scaling issues as a full-stack developer.
- You're well-versed with a modern tech stack (see what we're using below), but may have also used others.
- You can make wise choices and take smart risks when dealing with ambiguous requirements. Once you have context, you can figure out how to solve problems on your own.
- Bonus points if you've worked on integrating ML models or APIs, deployed non-trivial applications using Python, worked with Kubernetes, or successfully deployed mobile applications to the app store.
Tech Stack:
- JavaScript (React)
- Node.js (both for web development and microservices)
- Serverless Deployment (using Serverless.com framework and AWS Lambda)
- Extensive experience with Github Workflow or other similar CI/CD pipelines.
What We Offer:
- A front-row seat to venture building, we're building world-class B2B SaaS products with incredible founders from the ground up
- The opportunity to participate in team gatherings and offsites to collaborate and celebrate in-person
- The equipment and resources you'll need to be set up for success working remotely
- A remote-first environment; we do have offices in Toronto and New York if you happen to be within commuting distance
Compensation & Benefits:
- The salary range for candidates in Canada is 150,000-175,000 CAD*
- Fund Carry - a direct share in the financial success of the Studio ventures we build together
- A generous benefits package including a healthcare spending account
- Unlimited vacation policy
- Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above
