Specific Accountabilities:
- Updates and maintains the Parent & Professional Resource Centre's social media platforms, the Professionals’ Portal on the EarlyON Lambton website and develops programs and resources to support best practice in early childhood education.
- Uses current research to develop programs for the professional resource portal on the EarlyON Lambton website and for in person or virtual professional learning.
- Provides support and guidance to clients using the resource materials and equipment in the Parent and Professional Resource Centre.
- Assesses the need for professional learning and training in the community, including site specific training.
- Works with and evaluates students on field placement in the PPRC.
About the Position:
This is a Initiatives/Opportunities support staff position lasting for 2 years; working 35 hours per week (including some evenings and Saturdays) at an hourly rate of $30.87, reporting to the Manager, EarlyON Child and Family Centre.
The Parent and Professional Resource Centre/ECE Programming Developer works with the PPRC Coordinator to support professional learning by planning and implementing workshops and creating web-based content to support parents and early learning professionals in our community. The PPRC/ECE Programming Developer also provides support and guidance to clients using the Resource Centre.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education diploma required;
- Registered member in good standing with the College of ECE required;
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates required;
- Minimum of three years post diploma training as an Early Childhood Educator in an early years setting;
- Proficient in all Microsoft Applications required;
- Experience with website design, social media and virtual platforms would be an asset.
- Experience delivering adult education programs;
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills in order to communicate effectively with parents, early years professionals, community partners and presenters;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
- Able to bend, stoop and lift materials and to move furniture or equipment to prepare for programming needs.
