You will report to the Tax Manager, Canada and will assist on all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance, tax provision, account reconciliations and tax research/analysis related to our activities in Canada.Please apply if: You are a curious, self-starter who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional business partners with varying backgrounds and levels of experience within and outside of Tax. You are also excited to join a high-performance culture built around freedom and responsibility.This role is based in our Toronto office and the expectation is to come in 2x a week.ResponsibilitiesYou will work closely with both our local and US-based Tax and Financial Reporting teams, and other cross-functional partners such as Treasury, Production Finance, Content Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable/Payments.You will assist with the preparation of annual Canadian corporate income tax returns/information returns (T2, T106, T1134 and NR4s) and monthly indirect tax returns (GST/HST, PST, QST).You will assist with the quarterly/annual tax provision process including analysis of all tax accounts.You will assist with month-end/quarter-end financial reporting close process including preparation of reconciliation for income and indirect tax accounts.You will assist with automation projects to improve processes and achieve efficiencies.You will providing support during tax audits (income/indirect tax).You will assist with researching, analyzing and documenting tax issues as required by the Tax Manager.CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business (or similar degree) required.CPA designation or Masters of Taxation required.Completion of CPA Canada In-Depth tax courses preferred; enrollment required.Minimum 4 years working in Canadian corporate tax; public accounting firm/multinational corporation experience preferred.Experience with TaxPrep/similar software requiredFamiliarity with US GAAP/IFRS and tax accounting preferred.
