Our Brampton location is presently looking for Sr. Warehouse Associate (Continental Shift)
Position: Warehouse Associate III (Operations)-Continental Shift
Department: Warehousing & Distribution
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Brampton, Canada
Reporting To: Warehouse Manager
This position is for Continental Shift:
Friday – Saturday - Sunday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Rotating every 2 weeks inclusive to 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
General Summary:
The Senior Warehouse Associate co-ordinates and monitors the activities within the Warehouse, to ensure the safety, quality, productivity and training needs of the team members are met to achieve the goals defined for the warehousing department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The position may focus on any of the following functions in the Warehouse as directed by the Taro Management group:
- Oversee the Warehouse operations functions at B130 and B 132 (and B126 as required) to ensure safe and efficient material movement as required to effectively support production and US Distribution
- Ensure the required BPCS transactions are completed in a timely manner to support accurate inventory management
- Organize workloads for the shift based on Finite Schedule for Packaging and Compounding
- Coordinate and delegate sample request forms required for all departments
- Coordinate activities with the Warehousing Manager and Director
- Maintain a safe and secure operating environment within the warehouses.
- Maintenance of the warehouse housekeeping and housekeeping tasks as per SOP’s
- Ensure return materials are monitored and assigned within the shift
- Participate and conduct new employee training
- Coordinate cycle counts and complete inventory investigations
- Ensure that all production work orders are staged and delivered on a timely basis in order to support efficient production.
- Maintaining inventory location accuracy
- Cross train with warehousing staff to ensure back up for US Distribution and receiving of Bulk Tankers
- Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines and SOPs are maintained
- Report and complete safety incident reports as required
- Conduct shift handover meeting to discuss shift status and potential issues with the next shift
- Perform all Warehouse Associate duties and responsibilities (see Warehouse Associate job description)
- Complete all GMP Documentation correctly and in a timely manner
- Complete all training assignments and maintain personal training records
- Participate in and/or lead Non Conformance Investigations
- Complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA’s)
- Initiate, and follow through with actions required to close Change Controls
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- An effective team player with proven organizational, and interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-directed, able to work well under pressure, able to work alone and in groups
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Able to take on additional tasks where required
- Ability to analyze, perform root cause analysis, involve appropriate stakeholders in the decision making process
- Knowledge of standard Warehousing practices
- Knowledge of standard material handling practices including fork lift and pallet truck operations
- Knowledge of standard warehouse safety rules and skills in enforcing company safety rules
- Fork Lift Certification
- Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office;
- Experience with integrated MRP/ERP systems with RF capabilities an asset
Background and Experience:
- High School diploma required
- Post Secondary Degree / Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, transportation experience
- Minimum 1 year operating with an ERP system including material movements and inventory control.
- Strong pharmaceutical cGMP background
- Fork Lift License
Problem Solving:
- Ability to make decisions within the scope of warehouse operations as necessary to maintain material flow
- Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes and suggest corrective actions
- Ability to investigate operating problems (NCIs), determine root causes and suggest corrective actions
Working Conditions:
- Maybe contacted through telephone during off regular hours regarding “urgent” or emergency issues
- Warehouse Office environment with majority of time spent in the warehouse or production areas
- Work overtime, including weekends, when required
- Exposed to noise from equipment
