About us
Canadian Vape Inc is a mid market business with multiple retail locations in the GTA with its head office based out of Georgetown, Ontario. As one of the fastest growing Electronic Cigarette organizations in Canada, we are looking to expand our finance team by adding an Accounting Associate.
Our company is looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform a wide variety of accounting duties and tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and sales tax reporting. The ideal candidate will have basic accounting knowledge and experience but also be a quick learner with a strong work ethic. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to work closely with our management staff, and work closely with the CEO of Canadian Vape Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, update, and clean financial documents.
- Assist auditors in completing tasks.
- Prepare customer invoices and shipping documents.
- Prepare and process weekly electronic transfers and cheque runs.
- Ensure that all accounts receivable balances are paid and continually work on resolving amounts owed.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Calculate, reconcile and process WSIB remittances.
- Assist with year-end financial and other audits as required.
- Manage purchase order system.
- Greet visitors, receive and distribute mail.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain current financial knowledge through training and continuing education.
- Handle financial transactions.
- Manage financial records.
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma with accounting focus.
- Excellent communication skills required, in particular when dealing with international customers and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- High degree of organizational and time management skills.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 15 - 22.5 per week
Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Halton Hills, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
