Job Description
The MOA is a front-line employee and a valuable member of the team responsible to support and work in close collaboration with Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) and interdisciplinary health professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, answering incoming calls, managing the front desk and will be responsible for all front office operations. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
Responsibilities
:
- First point of contact with patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone
- Schedule appointments and surgeries
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks (faxes, mail, messaging, follow up, WSIB billing, etc.)
- Advise patients by answering their questions within scope
- Maintain inventory of office supplies
- Perform well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal health information.
Qualifications / Skills:
· Experience as a surgical Medical Office Assistant is an asset;
· Certification by a Medical Office Assistant Program is favorable but not necessary;
· Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) program (Oscar & Jane);
· Previous experience with EPIC (PRHC EMR & OR scheduling) is an asset;
· Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail;
· Desire to work with diverse patients requiring clinical and surgical management;
· Individuals who are adaptable and motivated to learn new skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: $20.00-$25.02 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
