CASE AIDE
Full-time, Permanent Position
Classification: HSI, $22.68 - $26.84 per hour
Hours of Work: 7.25 hours per day or 36.25 hours per week (FTE 1.0)

Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Family Services Supervisor, the Case Aide will work together with workers in all areas of services and administration of the respective unit and across the office as needed.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Complete various applications or forms as required, i.e., Birth Certificates, Birth Records, Passports, Social Insurance, Passport, Enhances basic ID, Health Cards, camp and field trip requests, DSW request form, family visit requests, tax requests, child tax benefits, CIC subsidiary forms online, etc.
- Work with unit workers to provide support and services for children and families, i.e., contact families and set up appointments, assist in the placement of children, driving children to and from appointments, assist with family time (supervisor visits), visit families at home (community setting), following up with case plan goals, assistance in creating life books as needed, follow-up with inquiries.
- Assist workers in various administrative activities, i.e., Closing and transfer summaries as directed, distribution/delivery various letters, invitations and other means of communication, assist with the service of court documents, prepare records and documentation on all participants, complete therapy and camp request memos, type service contracts and assist in creation of family mapping, draft special rate memos and other correspondence as required.
- Attend fields with workers as backup where necessary for safety reasons.
- Scan, fax and photocopy
- Update CFSIS/MK as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma
- Youth in Care certificate, Early Childhood Diploma, Applied Counselling Certificate or other related post-secondary education in social sciences. Related post-secondary education an asset
- Experience working with Metis and Inuit people.
- Two years relevant experience working with children, or families.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of Metis and Inuit culture and communities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with other community and related service organizations to achieve Agency goals and objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Knowledge of child development, attachment, community resources and parenting skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with families.
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, organizational and written communication skills
- Minimum typing skills of 45 wpm
- Sound knowledge of computer skills using Microsoft Office, e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word
- Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
