The posting closes at 12:01am on the morning of the closing date***The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures.Cashier Assistant - To provide friendly and efficient cashier transactions at the Food Service location while maintaining a hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking shelves and making coffee when able.Duties and Responsibilities:Cashier Assistant.
- Ensure drink fridges, coffee area and cashier shelving are stocked.
- Provides efficient service, keeping area clean at all times including servery counters.
- Cleans, cuts and prepares fruit and vegetables for use in daily menu as required
- Prepares sandwiches as required
- Performs housekeeping duties as required.
Required Qualifications:- Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;
- Experience handling cash if applying for cashier positions an asset;
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;
- Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.
