Job Description
Position Summary: As a member of the dental health team, the Health Educator collaborates with community health and social service agencies to deliver oral health promotion and disease prevention programs to residents of the community and surrounding area, including designated First Nations.
Qualifications: - Dental Assistant Level I or II certification or equivalent dental background required - Experience working with a variety of age groups and cultures in diverse settings - Knowledge and/or experience with principles of child and adult education, community development and mobilization - HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection Commission) certified - Supporting public health community dental clinics and mobile dental offices(s) along with clinical side chair assisting - Demonstrated computer skills: Office 365, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and the Internet - Ability to work well independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams - Willingness to work irregular hours and travel This role would provide the following benefits: - Health and Dental benefits - Life insurance, LTD coverage - Employee and Family Assistance Program - OMERS Defined Benefit Pension Plan - Starting 4 weeks vacation per year - 13 paid Statutory Holidays per year - Personal and family sick leave coverage
