Position Summary
We are looking for a HR Generalist based at our Sterling Road Factory reporting into the Senior HR Factory Manager. This role will be responsible to continuously improve Employee Relations processes and champions HR practices in alignment with the factory objectives. In addition, you will provide support to the leadership team and all employees with high quality of information, advice and service.
A day in the life of an HR Generalist
As an HR Generalist you will be responsible for key areas including employee engagement, labour relations, HR process management and recruitment.
Some activities you will lead include:
- Establish and maintain effective win-win working relationships with managers, employees and their representatives through an environment that cultivates communication and co-operation.
- Promote and develop a culture and environment that is productive, open, empowering, safe and equitable and mentor others to behave and make decisions in line with Nestlé Management and Leadership Principles and Nestlé Corporate Business Principles.
- Advise on labour issues and appropriate interpretation, application, and administration of multiple collective agreements.
- Participate in grievances and other dispute resolution processes and investigations
- Hourly Performance Management
- Supports Compliance for HR
- Ensure effective support to all hourly and unionized workforce, including hiring, transfers, end of contract, retirement, long term leaves, parental leaves, reporting, time management and payroll activities.
- Work as part of cross functional HR team to develop HR practice and process developments that enhance the HR contribution to the business.
What will make you successful?
As the successful candidate, you will need to be collaborative and understand how to work in a complex environment. You will already have great project management and analytical skills coupled with your highly organised, conscientious approach. You will also have:
- 3-5 years HR Generalist experience preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Experience in coaching and developing people
- Flexible work schedule in order to improve service to internal and external customers
- Degree level or HR Professional designation
