Job Description
SPS is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Alliston. This position will have a high level of exposure to all areas of our operations and will include all the aspects of the Human Resources function.
Our Human Resources Generalist - role is best suited for a team player, with a positive attitude, who enjoys working with people at all different levels, and departments within our organization, liaising with customers and a has good knowledge of current ESA and MOL standards. In addition to your aptitude with analysis and numbers, the successful candidate must also be comfortable working in a high paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Dealing with any Employment Standards Act and/or any applicable legislation issues
- Lead full cycle employee relations investigations including corrective actions
- Support in full cycle Leave of Absence administration
- Liaise and guide floor management to support progressive discipline process
- Support the processing vacation requests and attendance management program.
- Reporting, including data collection, analysis, conclusion/recommendations
- Support company programs
- Support internal audits as required
- Enforce and update company policies
- Support of the full cycle recruitment process for both warehouse and corporate associates.
- Special projects when required by Human Resources Management
Skills
- Working experience and knowledge of the current Employment Standards Act and all applicable legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong administrative skills
- Experience working with an HRIS system
- General knowledge of employee benefit and pension plans
- General knowledge of payroll principles
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid experience in the field of human resources
- Certification in Human Resources Management (Degree or Post-Secondary)
- CHRP/CHRL in progress or completed (considered an asset)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
