Job Scope:
The Payroll & Accounting Administrator is based out of the Toronto head office and will be responsible for processing weekly payroll and related duties for ~40 employees and accounts payable administrative duties for the Panavision Canada, Light Iron Digital Canada and LEE Filters Canada entities.
Payroll:
The position is responsible for all aspects of preparation and processing of weekly payroll and will ensure that all employees within the Canadian entities are paid on time and correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll on a weekly basis for hourly and salaried employees.
- Process wage garnishments as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
- Balance weekly payrolls, participate in audits as assigned.
- Prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll general ledger accounts as requested.
- Complete year end balancing, filing and delivery of T4s, complete year-end tax form amendments as required.
- Manage and process monthly remittance for the RRSP, Company health and dental benefit plans and Workers Compensation.
- Maintain annual vacation schedule.
Accounts Payable:
The position is responsible for processing all invoices for the Canadian entities in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry of accounts payables invoices.
- 3-Way PO matching (manufacturing or similar).
- Check matching and distribution.
- Maintenance of accounts payable subledger.
- Organization and filing of paid vendor invoices and payments and the creation of new files as needed.
- Managing payment requests for vendors and employees.
- Processing manual payment entries.
- Auditing and processing employee expense reports, ensuring they adhere to the Company’s travel and entertainment policy.
Education/Technical Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the MS Great Plains accounts payable software.
- Knowledge of the accounts payable cycle.
- Prior demonstrated experience processing payroll within Canadian entities.
- Certified Payroll Compliance Professional / Certified Payroll Manager or higher preferred.
- Working knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now preferred, knowledge and experience with payroll software/systems required.
- Knowledge of payroll related legislation required.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to include excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Self-starter with a great attention to detail.
- High degree of confidentiality and professionalism required.
- Ability to collaborate with HR.
