Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related employee services, including recordkeeping, onboarding and reporting, while maintaining confidentiality and protecting the privacy of its employees, and confidential business information.
Responsibilities
- Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for all locations; salary and hourly employees;
- Prepare commission summary detail
- Run all required reports to complete and balance payroll.
- Process commission payments.
- Prepare new hire documentation as required.
- Process boot allowance for all locations as per company policies.
- Process pay related modifications as directed.
- Prepare Employment Letters.
- Assist in various accounting activities to ensure month and year end financial reporting is completed in a timely manner.
- RRSP, WSIB, Group Insurance
- Update bulletin boards and health and safety boards at the Mississauga location.
- Manage 90 Day and Annual Performance Evaluations for all employees.
- Maintain health and safety training portal.
- Prepare new hire and termination packages for employees.
- Assist in the creation of Records of Employment (ROE) as directed.
- Maintain systems and procedures to ensure employee payroll and attendance records are accurate.
- Maintain all employment personnel files i.e. filing.
- Communicate with sensitively; tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times.
- Promptly respond to inquiries relating to payroll; earnings, deductions, vacation etc.
- Assist in all phases of Human Resources activities as they relate to payroll and onboarding.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications- Post-secondary diploma preferred.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years payroll and/or accounting experience.
- Experience with a company with 500+ employees.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Must be committed to meeting tight deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and time management skills
