Position Overview:
The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing PLC programs to meet organizational needs. They need to have a deep understanding of machinery operations and automation systems to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop PLC programs for automation and control systems based on project specifications and requirements.
- Debug and test PLC programs to ensure they function as expected.
- Maintain and modify existing PLC programs to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators to understand system requirements and integrate new systems into existing manufacturing processes.
- Document all programming and modification activities for future reference and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff.
- Ensure all PLC programming activities adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Regularly review and stay updated with latest PLC programming techniques and industry best practices.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with PLC programming, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in PLC software such as Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.
- Strong understanding of automation and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
