Crowe MacKay LLP is excited to grow our team and our Sunshine Coast office is currently searching for a Senior Accountant to join our team. The Role
- Analyzing and preparing personal, trust, corporate tax, GST, T4 and T5 returns including CRA audit and support requests.
- Conduct compilation, assurance, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
- Prepare financial statements and corresponding notes.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies/ irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports.
- Respond to client questions and queries.
- Raise identified technical issues with manager or engagement partner.
- Work with accounting software and provide support to clients.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Crowe MacKay’s services, businesses and industry
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
- Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion.
- Provide support to clients and staff on general questions regarding accounting, taxations, operations and financial accounting issues.
- In conjunction with and under the supervision of management, responsible for completion of all aspects of the engagement.
- Prepare, complete and review working papers, financial statements and tax returns according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of industry segments.
- Completion of additional ad-hoc administrative duties or assignments as required.
What You Will Bring
- Professional designation CPA (or legacy CA, CMA, CGA).
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience.
- Prior experience in the industries our firm currently supports considered an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical & problem solving skills.
- An innovative thinker, comfortable in a team and client-focused environment.
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
- Community focused.
- A team player who encourages the success of all.
- Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep and Microsoft Office considered an asset.
