About us
Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe is a non profit agency focusing on youth mentoring in the North Simcoe communities of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay Townships . We are professional from a child safety perspective and are successful based on the support of our community to recruit mentor volunteers and secure funds to sustain our programs. Our goal is to empower youth through intentional mentoring programs to ignite their individual potential.

You will be relationship driven and form connections that encourage those within our community to volunteer or donate to the Mentoring programs we offer to our youth of North Simcoe.
Through the generosity of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) it is our plan to focus on a well developed, cohesive and targeted marketing/recruitment plan to engage both volunteers and donors to meet the increased numbers of youth in need within our North Simcoe communities.
The role has 2 components for success. You will be responsible for working in conjunction with a external marketing consultant to ensure our social media is relevant and meaningful and to create posts that speak to the need for volunteer mentors. As well, this role is structured for you to create a solid volunteer recruitment strategy that identifies a detailed plan that utilizes effective engagement skills to recruit volunteers for our School Focused Programming.

Your proven marketing & presentation skills, creativity, and passion for empowering and enabling youth can be used to engage and attract suitable volunteers to be Mentors to the child and youth mentees in our programs.
Your previous marketing experience allows for creation of material that highlights the sharing of stories of success, community spotlights and donor testimonials regarding their reasons for giving. The goal is to find the “aha” moment of community citizens in wanting to be a part of something bigger, something that succeeds in igniting the potential of each youth we serve.
In coordination with our team, you will promote events and engage the community for revenue success.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in social media marketing, be passionate about social media trends and best practices, and have exceptional communication and analytical skills.
What your days with us will look like (Roles and Responsibilities):
- Develop effective paid social media plans to enhance our digital marketing presence, covering campaign planning, budget allocation, and continuous optimization.
- Create social media calendars and content plans that align with our goals and target audience.
- Manage and grow our social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Produce high-quality work and content that aligns with brand standards.
- Proactively identify ways to improve campaigns and monitor progress or decline on all campaigns-utilizing speaking and presentation to community groups, service clubs, sports clubs and school councils
- Continuous work to increase volunteers, secure funds for continued program delivery and ensure that child safety remains at the forefront of all work.
This position is responsible for developing and managing targeted social media strategies and delivering social media campaigns that result in increased inquiries for those wishing to volunteer or donate. This work is supported by your passion for youth and the intrinsic value of having them succeed in their individual goals.
What you bring to the role (Skills or Experience):
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in social media marketing.
- Experience in running revenue-generating advertising campaigns on various platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Knowledge of social media advertising platforms such as Meta Business Suite, Meta Business Manager, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- Strong writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Experience working with Google Analytics and social listening tools.
- Ability to work with visuals, gifs, PS assets, videos, and other content formats.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns with identifiable successes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and provide insights.
- Proficient in social media management tools such as Later, Facebook META Manager, etc.
- Experience managing multiple social media accounts across various platforms
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: From $21.00 per hour
