Job Description

Pharmasave at Woodstock General Hospital (WGH) has a career opportunity available for the position of pharmacy manager. Located on the main floor of WGH in Woodstock, ON, this practice primarily caters to outpatients and hospital staff.

Pharmacy hours:

Key Responsibilities

Ensure customer service needs are exceeded/met for our customer needs

Ensure that the pharmacy operates in accordance with DPRS, guidelines of the Ontario College of Pharmacists and Health Canada

Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and ensuring that staff are properly supported

Responsible for the direct management of the Pharmacy team

Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate and implement new/existing policy and procedures

Ensure employees are working in compliance with company policy/practice/procedure

Perform performance assessments (probationary, annually)

Provide training to and supporting the pharmacy team members in their professional growth and development

Provide the pharmacy team with performance coaching and/or disciplinary action

Manage incidents of employee conflict

Schedule the pharmacy team, update and approval of employee time for payroll

Ensure billing is done correctly and in accordance with governed billing requirements

Investigate medication incidents, participating in root cause analyses, implementing preventative measures (AIMS) and liaison with client

Monitor health and safety compliance

Responsible for inventory management and audit process

Qualifications:

Must be licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with the expectation of adherence to the Standards of Practice for Designated Managers

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role

Working knowledge of equipment and technology commonly used in the pharmacy environment (e.g. Kroll)

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal/external contacts, both orally and in writing
