Join our Human Resources team as the Manager, Total Compensation where you'll lead a team of professionals in delivering outstanding service and enhancing our employees' well-being.The Manager, Total Compensation will design, develop, and maintain employee benefit plans, the Human Capital Management System (Workday) and total compensation programs to align with organizational goals. The successful candidate will guide a team of professionals in being a strategic partner to all areas of the organization to provide outstanding service to our valued employees. To be successful in this role, you must be able to problem solve, think strategically and quickly lead with vision.Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the provision of a competitive, comprehensive total compensation program that is in line with the organization’s compensation philosophy by conducting salary surveys, designing, adjusting salary structures, job evaluation and costing, and undertaking research for union negotiations.
- Design, develop and administer the corporate employee and retiree benefit programs.
- Responsible for contract negotiations along with maintaining effective relationships with benefit carriers, pension plan providers and insurers.
- Accountable for financial reporting of benefit plans including liability valuations, benefit plan expenditures, trend analysis and recommendations.
- Project sponsor for Workday updates and future enhancement projects, and on-going maintenance of the system.
- Payroll administration including disbursements, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Provide effective leadership and direction to a team of HR compensation, benefits, payroll, and systems professionals who are focused on delivering fantastic service to WCB employees.
- Work collaboratively with other leaders in Human Resources to deliver best in class service to WCB employees.
Your experience and skills:You must be a strategic thinker and have highly developed planning and organizational skills; be a proven problem solver and decision-maker; have the ability to understand and relate to complex, multi-faceted issues; must have well developed oral and written communications skills; proven leadership ability; and issues analysis and negotiation/mediation skills.- University degree or equivalent diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources Management is preferred.
- Professional designations: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) are preferred.
- At least five years’ progressively responsible experience with benefits, compensation, and payroll administration (experience with pension plans would also be an asset).
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Having in-depth experience with Human Resources systems is essential (Workday experience would be an asset).
- Project management and change management skills would be an asset.
- Excellent ability to create and present business cases and briefing notes.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service skills in difficult and stressful situations.
- Must be able to work under tight timelines and handle multi-tasking.
- Must be an effective communicator to build solid relationships throughout the organization.
