There is a temporary, thirty-five (35) hour per week position available with duties effective September 1st, 2023, ending no later than April 27th, 2024.

SALARY : In accordance with the terms of the Collective Agreement between the Board and
the A.P.S.S.P. ($41,641 - $57,136)
JOB SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Chief of Mental Health Programming, Child & Youth Counsellors (CYCs) work as a member of an integrated school team. They collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to enhance student success and well-being. Child and Youth Counsellors promote, support and facilitate school and class-wide preventative initiatives and programs that foster healthy, safe, and inclusive Catholic school environments. As part of an inter-disciplinary team, CYCs provide direct small group and individual support for students of all ages impacted by a range of social, emotional, and developmental concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :
- Qualified applicants will hold a Child Care Youth Worker Diploma from a recognized post Secondary institution.
- Related work experience.
- Knowledge of Board policies and procedures.
- Problem solving, planning and creativity skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols and strategies
