A career in Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations unlock greater value from existing assets and ongoing capital expenditures as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. We focus on a series of services, such as acquisition and disposal valuation advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, strategic value consulting for improvement of corporate and capital management decisions, financial modelling and value analysis. In short, upon being a member of our team, you will support clients to make profound strategic decisions, better conduct business transactions and decisions, appropriately allocate capital investment, and satisfy regulatory requirements with professional skills and in-depth industry knowledge.What to consider before applying
- This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.
Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As an Insurance Claims Services Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. As part of our Insurance Claims Services team, you will be working across various industries to quantify insurable losses for our clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Consult with claimants/policyholders, counsel and representatives of insurance companies
- Prepare detailed analysis of accounting records and other personal and corporate financial information
- Complete research and investigation related to the claim using the internet and various other internal resources
- Present analysis and research using various software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word & Microsoft Office
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of loss quantification reports and/or loss review (critique) to lawyers (both plaintiff and defense counsel) and/or insurance adjusters/claims managers
- An interest in joining a group of insurance industry leaders who offer strategic advisory to insurance companies and/or policyholders to effectively resolve claims
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts
- Successful completion of a finance related Undergraduate Degree / College Diploma
- Completion of an Accounting designation is an asset
- Analytical and logical frame of mind
- Strong research skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines on multiple engagements simultaneously
- Ability to offer strategic advisory to insurance companies and/or policyholders to effectively resolve claims
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
