About Our Company
National Fire Equipment Ltd. is an integrated supplier of fire sprinkler systems selling products to installing contractors in the new construction building and retrofit markets. With eight locations across Canada, our company is the country’s leading fire protection supplier offering our customers the best in product and customer support from coast to coast.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
As an experienced driver who will be accurate, efficient, and safe delivery of customer orders to shops and construction sites around the GTA.
- Review and prepare required documentation (vehicle/delivery paperwork and route information).
- Perform your vehicle safety checks and ensure your load is complete, safe, and secure before leaving for your first delivery.
- Communicate with the customer or contact on-site prior to arrival and determine the safest spot to park and unload the product/equipment.
- Work with the customer to safely unload all materials & equipment to the assigned location.
- Ensure that all materials equipment is unloaded completely, and all paperwork is complete and signed before leaving the site.
- Keep continued and open communication with our Freight Coordinator or Warehouse Manager regarding any potential discrepancy or customer requirement.
- Perform a quick check of your truck and secure load before leaving to your next destination.
- Report via "I-phone" arrivals and destinations to different sites, run-lists with timelines and maps using our delivery tracking system.
- In addition, you will be required to assist with general warehouse work such as picking and preparing customer orders, organizing next day deliveries (loading trucks) and Inventory counts.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-5 years of commercial driving experience is required.
- Valid "G" driving license. with a clean abstract.
- Experience in driving, Panel Vans, and 3.5-ton pick-up truck, and a 5-ton Box truck.
- Experience with 400 HWY- weight scales and MTO inspections.
- Capable of operating warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
- Handling, loading, and unloading steel pipe, fire protection products.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and time management.
- Customer service, strong work ethic, reliable, and positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift or move between 20 lbs. & 70 lbs. multiple times a day.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
