Do you have exceptional knowledge of the rules of the road? We have an excellent 6-month temporaryopportunity to take on a unique career as a Driver Examiner II in Kamloops.Your key focus will be to conduct road tests and determine the knowledge and ability of drivers to safely operate all classes ofMotor Vehicles 1-8. You will be trained to drive a follow vehicle driver for motorcycle tests.The driver examiner position involves working in all weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.Your responsibilities will include:Conducting driver examinations in designated geographical locations for all classes of licenses;Assessing the knowledge and ability of drivers to safely operate motor vehicles;Communicating the results of road tests and explaining what is necessary to meet licensing requirements;Performing vision screening of applicants, assessing applicant's mental and physical ability to operate a motor vehicle;Providing an information service to the general public, business community, government and community agencies in matterspertaining to driver licensing and traffic safety;Answering enquiries, resolving or referring complaints, and speaking to interested groups regarding driving and safety issues;Operating a travelling examination unit;Providing guidance and advising on matters relating to licensing issues to staff in Appointed Agent's offices.Position RequirementsTo be successful in this key role, you must:Possess a valid BC Class 5 (or better) driver's license;Be able to qualify for a Class 1 and 6 Learner License;Be able to qualify for and successfully complete the AAMVA Driver Examiner Certification Program;Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Acts and Regulations as they relate to driver examinations andlicensing;Have a clear understanding of safe driving practices and defensive driving techniques;Demonstrate a high level of concentration to observe and assess driver abilities.Have the physical ability to maneuver in and around all types of vehicles and to work in all weather conditions;Demonstrate the ability to work independently and handle workload volume effectively.Position InformationWhat we offer:Competitive Salary: $33.23/hContinuous Training: We offer continuous in-house training to ensure you have the knowledge to be successful in your role.Engaging Culture: At ICBC we promote an inclusive and diverse work environment.Please note only those legally entitled to work in Canada at present will be considered for this position.#ZR2 Apply Go Back
