The role can be based anywhere in Canada or the US. All employees work virtually from their home office; therefore a minimum requirement is that employees have home office space and high-speed internet. This role requires employees to work non-standard hours to support global needs, employees are generally expected to be able to work during standard core hours (i.e. 9am to 5pm EST) when non-standard hours are not required.

Summary
Reporting to the Events Manager, the Events Support Intern will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of IIBA's comprehensive events strategy which includes, planning and executing regional virtual or hybrid conferences, supporting IIBA Global webinars, fulfilling event sponsorships and tradeshows, and supporting the growth and coordination of Chapter events, as required.
This is a an intern role from September 2023 to December 2023, with the possibility to start earlier based on the successful candidate's availability.
Accountabilities
- Assist with virtual and live conferences, including:
- Track event performance and conduct reporting
- Work closely with content and design to build event themes, messaging, web pages, social media, promotional materials, emails, blogs, and collateral
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams for promotion and communication support
- Assist with all event details, as needed, to ensure a professional experience for the intended audience
- Coordinate speaker lists, digital assets, contact lists and other supporting materials for all event initiatives
- Perform duties as required for event sponsorship relationships and tradeshows
- Assist with the central events calendar, speaker list, internal communications, event guidelines, and other key resources
- Participate in planning sessions and record details, next steps, and important concepts related to event execution
- Support with the development of reporting and presentations communicating event marketing metrics (like lead generation and attendee engagement)
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in business, communications, or event planning, or actively pursuing
- Some experience with event management within an organization is preferred, including volunteer positions, which included support with planning and reporting on events of all types with exceptional focus on all details
- Excellent communications skills, including presentation development and facilitation
- Personality to motivate, engage, and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, internally and externally
- Must be able to work remotely to meet time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work non-standard hours to accommodate global event needs
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Experience using Pardot and Salesforce preferred
