Portfolio Division - 2 Positions:
- 1. Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction Services, Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic and Substance Use Intervention Team. The successful candidate will work at TWH.
- 2. Poul Hansen Family Centre for Depression, IMPACT, Urgent Care Clinic, Mental Health in Medicine Clinic, Hearts and Minds Clinic, and Outpatient Eating Disorder Services. The successful candidate will work at both TGH and TWH.
Each Operations Lead will be assigned to a portfolio and will work together as Operations Leads to support initiatives across both portfolios. Operations Leads will provide coverage to other programs during absences. Each Operations Lead will report to a different Clinical Manager, reflective of the portfolio assigned.
Position Summary
As an integral member of the Centre for Mental Health team, the Operations Lead works in collaboration with the Clinical Manager to support and provide leadership to the clinical and administrative team. The Operations Lead will be a main point of contact for staff seeking support regarding day-to-day operations. This position will be key in optimizing the use of Epic to support a positive patient experience that is consistent across clinics.
Duties
- Assist with leading, supporting, and developing human resources
- Facilitate and support best practices, optimization of Epic, and program alignment with the goals for the Centre for Mental Health
- Facilitate consistency across clinics regarding patient care, patient experience, and workflows
- Facilitate the development and implementation of service delivery solutions by collaborating with the Medical Director, Clinical Manager, and other stakeholders
- Act as a liaison between corporate initiatives and the Clinical Manager
- Provide leadership and direction to the interprofessional and administrative teams
- Responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the various outpatient clinics/programs within the portfolio of the Clinical Manager
Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of a master’s degree in a regulated health profession or recognized equivalent required
- Membership in good standing with a Regulated Health Professional College, from which a license allows the member to perform the Act of Psychotherapy
- At minimum, over 4 years up to and including 6 years practical and related experience required
- Experience in an outpatient mental health & addictions environment
- Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills
- Experience with program evaluation and change in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Adapts to and implements change and facilitates its acceptance by others
- Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Confidentiality policy requirements
- Has knowledge of UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures & protocols
- Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources, health care, and psychotherapy
- Excellent computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office and Outlook applications
- Has knowledge of collaborative networks, primary care, and integrated health systems
- Excellent critical thinking and solution-focused skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent skills relating to service orientation, anticipating, recognizing and meeting customer needs required.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
