Job Description
We are looking for a qualified leader who is passionate about operations and logistics, has a positive attitude, and has ample experience leading people in a fast-paced team environment. Their duties include hiring and training employees, strategizing process improvements to ensure efficiencies, and constantly looking for ways to make positive enhancements to our logistics area.This person must be highly motivated, results-driven, and has the capabilities to build efficiencies and follow process within our logistics (warehouse) area. The specific duties of an operations manager include formulating operational business strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources, and maintaining inventory controls. This candidate should be ready to mentor their team members, lead by example, find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all areas of the warehouse.
Qualifications & Areas of Responsibility:
- 3+ years in an operations management role
- 3+ years experience in direct management of a warehouse
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Proven management capabilities and supervisory experience
- Exceptional time management skills

- Strategic thinker with the proven ability to identify opportunities, formulate supporting business cases and gain support from stakeholders.

- Accomplishes distribution operations through training, delegating, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforces all policies and procedures.
- Assigns logistics associates to specific duties each day and holds them accountable to the job standards.
- Coordinates all activities of distribution, warehousing, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Meets overall distribution operations financial objectives by forecasting labor requirements; participates in the annual budget process; scheduling capital expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action plans.
- Coordinates activities of Warehouse with activities of sales, inventory control and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise.
- Ensures logistic standards and SOPs are followed.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all legal regulations. Ensuring that all employees are treated equally and ethically.
- Implements and enforces safety standards to promote a culture of working safely.
- Directly manages 4 to 8 employees in the logistics area.
- Serves as the “Go to” person on site for all communications pertaining to the logistics warehouse.
Skills and Qualifications
- WHMIS,Pallet Lift Truck, and Forklift certifications are an asset
- Attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and communication skills
- This is a physically demanding position and requires the ability to lift 25kg of materials
- Relevant education OR equivalent work experience in a warehouse environment is an asset.

SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team (General Manager, Sales Manager, ownership team) to build operational strategies for the organization.
- Manage the day-to-day operation within the logistics area ( includes shipping, receiving, delivery routing, inventory management, dock pickup)
- Develop a consolidated list of effective inventory & operations reports to help manage the organizations operational efficiency, inventory control, sales, and profitability. Leverage those reports to make profitable and sustainable decisions for the organization.
- Act as the gatekeeper for all internal processes and procedures that impact inventory and operations for the organization.
- Strong focus is required to build efficiencies in our product check process and inventory transfer process. These processes will be the main two focuses for the warehouse in the upcoming year.
- Act as the gatekeeper for all work order, service order processes
- Act as the gatekeeper for all inbound shipments – product placement in warehouse, receiving by location, re organization of warehouse.
- Control all aspects of inventory management within OO and OS warehouses (inventory transfers, shipping, receiving, tagging, labelling, stock counts etc.)
- Build strategy for JIT and Stock inventory program.
- Meet monthly with logistics staff to measure performance, provide action plans coach, and mentor (routine follow up)
- Own the performance management process of the warehouse staff – 6 month and 12-month performance reviews.
- Recruiting and building a high-performance team
- Majority of your time will be spent in the warehouse supporting the logistics staff. You will also have a significant amount of time spent in office planning, analyzing reporting, building strategy etc.
- Manage relationships with third party vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with the commercial sales team to build operational efficiencies.
- Manage the RMA/RGA process.
- Oversee and execute semi annual/annual inventories for OO and OS warehouses.
- Manage deliveries and outbound shipments for our improve centre.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
