Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Operations Project Engineer role will report to the Supervisor, Growth. The successful candidate will provide Project Management support to support growth and expansion opportunities on Inter Pipeline’s Pipeline assets.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Developing growth project scope development, including estimation of project costs and developing project schedules
- Prepare and publish short and long term system expansion plans and feasibility studies including investigation and economic analysis of planned alternatives
- Works closely with Field Operations, Control Centre, Operations Management, Business Development, Oil Movements, and external stakeholders (industry committees, regulators, etc.).
- Liaise with various stakeholders throughout the company to identify and champion solutions.
- Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
Educations, Skills & Experience
- An engineering degree and registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer are essential for this position.
- The Project Engineer typically has at least 5 years of industry experience
- Demonstrated project management skills (planning, cost and scope tracking and reporting)
- Knowledgeable in current operating standards, codes, rules and regulations that relate to pipeline operations and associated equipment
- Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the pipeline industry is a strong asset
- Ability to perform feasibility studies, coordinate the input of others, analyze information and meet deadlines
Hours:
8 hours/day, Monday – Friday. Occasional travel to site locations is required.
