Role and Responsibilities
The hardware operations project manager will be responsible, from Kick off to PO, for the overall hardware delivery, from a design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly and testing aspect. They must manage, monitor and report the progress and performance; Identify, resolve, and escalate project issues and risks to meet project deliverables.
The hardware operations project manager will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on the on-time delivery of the Module start, HOTT, HOTI and PO milestones.
- Conduct project reviews and prepare regular reports to present within and beyond the project team including executive level.
- Use project management best practices and apply company policies, processes and procedures in managing projects. Share best practices with colleagues.
- Autonomously manage moderate to large projects, from start to finish, within time, cost, scope and quality constraints.
- Develop and implement a project plan; Manage progress and performance; Identify, resolve, and escalate project issues and risks to meet project deliverables.
- Identify business opportunities for cost avoidance, suggest "make/buy" analysis’s.
- Accountable for the following elements: Design Phase: Design for Procurement, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Cost, Design for Safety, Procurement lead times, Manufacturing lead times. Execution phase: Problem reports, ECN’s, Shortage reports, Hardware Snags, NCR’s.
- Point of contact facing for the Business Unit for Coordination with following stakeholders to establish an overall project status health: Project Managers, Planning project leaders, Hardware Group Leaders, Project Experts, Project Specialists, Manufacturing project leaders, Cell leaders, Procurement Group leaders.
- University undergraduate degree. (Business Administration, Commerce, or in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Applied Sciences or a related field of study).
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in related field, including at least 3 years of project management responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle and project management
- Knowledge of CAE technical and operational practices, procedures and products.
- PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is required.
