Position Description
GUIDE is an academic group providing methodological support to clinical practice guidelines developers. The group is comprised mostly of critical care physicians and experts in the field of clinical practice guideline development and systematic reviews. We are looking for a Research Assistant to support screening and enrolments in ongoing clinical trials, as well as data collection/abstraction in other retrospective and prospective research studies.
Key Responsibilities
· Collaborates with Principal Investigator, Research Manager and Research Coordinators recruit and assess study participants (e.g., identifies and screens potential subjects; obtains informed consent; conducts pre-testing and administers questionnaires or other data collection tools)
· Plans, implements and coordinates data collection and source documentation, in accordance with ICH/Good Clinical Practice guidelines
· Identifies problems using assessment skills and reports any abnormalities to the PI and study team
· Assists in study-related administrative tasks, such as collection of regulatory documents, ethics submissions, etc.
· Conducts patient telephone Interviews
· Coordinates patient visits schedule as per study protocol
· Executes all aspects of study Follow-ups (e.g., assessment; adverse events; monitoring of safety; medication; questionnaires) according to study protocol
· Reviews and assesses study-related literature
· Enters data into secure database as required (REDCap)
· Participates in team meetings to report on progress and identify potential problems
Minimum Requirement
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
· Experience: Requires 2 years of relevant experience. Previous xxperience working in a clinical setting, specially ICU
· Awareness of ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines; Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans; Standard Operating Procedures for Clinical Research
· Knowledgeable in REDCap
· Excellent communication skills
· Desire to acquire new knowledge and skills
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Excellent computer skills
