Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Care or Allied Health, Child Health Program, the incumbent is responsible for providing secretarial/clerical support for the Children’s Hospital and the Managers. Duties include:
- Typing a variety of correspondence, reports and preparing forms and spreadsheets.
- Recording and distributing minutes for interdisciplinary committee as required.
- Prioritizing workload and ensuring work is completed within established time frames
- Filing, organizing documents, managing travel reimbursements, managing petty cash reimbursements, scheduling appointments, scheduling orientation days and training days for staff through Outlook, LMS or other scheduling software.
- May be required to create, view, enter data, maintain data bases, excel worksheets or other computer software of the department.
- May be required to learn and use department specific software and technology.
- Two years previous secretarial experience required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
- Typing 50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) required.
- Must have excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills.
- Must be able to function independently and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Fast paced with many work interruptions.
