We are currently recruiting for one position within the Parks and Roads Services Branch to provide project support for an Urban Farms and Gardens project.
This project would focus on determining the feasibility of urban farming in Edmonton and the development of an urban farming program. This work would take a phased approach. As the Project Analyst you will have the chance to work collaboratively with stakeholders from a variety of sections focused on urban agriculture. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to achieve timely results in a respectful, inclusive, and service-minded style.

- Research and analysis of best practices for program development, making and delivering recommendations based on findings
- Support urban agriculture through through policy and program framework development
- Work within project teams, and chair project meetings, ensuring team deliverables are completed in a timely manner with the appropriate input and expertise
- Liaise across organizational departments to identify SMEs and gather information to propose business case for continuous improvement
- Develop responses to Council’s requests for information or recommendation based reports
- Compile supporting documentation and develop presentation materials
- Analyze system data to produce current state snapshot and develop a roadmap to future state (gap analysis)
- Offer advice and guidance on issues related to incongruities with existing bylaws and/or provincial legislation
- Synthesize data into accurate and meaningful insights and recommendations
- Develop working relationships across the City administration, representing OPM as an active contributor to the City's vision
- Foster working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute projects
- Support the facilitation of multi-stakeholder technical or policy-setting groups or committees
- Participate in contract reviews and assist in gathering business requirements to produce technical specifications
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:- University Degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce, Political Science
- Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic and operational business planning including: strategic policy development, researching and developing public policies, program development, and stakeholder relations
- Project Management certification would be an asset
- Gender-based Analysis Plus training is an asset
- Project management, research, strategic-thinking, report writing, business case development
- Experience working with urban agriculture projects such as gardening or farming is an asset
- Advanced computer skills, including Google Suite applications, web-based communications, groupware and social media tools
- Ability to work independently and in cross functional teams, across programs and work collaboratively to share resources and information
- Strong analytical skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate work to deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful, inclusive and service-minded style
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, both internally and with external vendors and stakeholders
